koumpara=1)literally:"At the church ceremony (during a Greek marriage), the person who crosses the assimilated crowns called "stefana" above the heads of the marrying couple, and after the ceremony signs the marriage certificate together with the couple.Usually this role is assigned to the best friend(s) of the couple," 2)"relative","friend","close friend whom we consider family".
Well, personally, when I have to write in Greeklish I prefer to follow the "orthographic" way (to reproduce Greek orthography closely in order to avoid ambiguity and allow semantic relations to emerge) of transliteration and not the "phonetic" one (kumbara).Thus,κου-μπ-αÏα-->kou-mp-ara. As far as I know there are no rules. The only "rule" is understandability.
