Every night I see myself in dreams lying by your side. I hold you really really tightly, my love. | | This translation was done from the French translation of the original Vietnamese. --- The second sentence may mean: I kiss you very strongly (i.e. passionately), my love. |

마지막 글 | | | | | 2008년 2월 9일 22:12 | | | hug you really strongly is awkward and not the best English. Can you re-work it a bit?
Thanks,
David | | | 2008년 2월 9일 22:38 | | | intensely?
tightly? | | | 2008년 2월 10일 00:49 | | | What would you say, David? | | | 2008년 2월 10일 12:59 | | | | | | 2008년 2월 10일 13:27 | | | | | | 2008년 2월 10일 14:57 | | | Hmm...You know Franck, we still can't say for sure that either this text or the French one exactly reflects the Vietnamese, because I think Lilian translated the French text into English (I don't think she can read Vietnamese?
So we are still just trusting that wattier has really translated the Vietnamese correctly, with no independent validation?
Or did you have another way to check his text independently, that I did not know of? | | | 2008년 2월 10일 15:04 | | | PS: Does "je t'embrasse très très fort" in the French here best translated as
I hold you so so tightly in my arms
or
I kiss you strongly, passionately
?
To hold you in my arms
to me would be in French
Te serrer dans mes bras
and not
T'embrasser....
Or is that just the way we use the verb "embrasser" in Québec? |
