I think the translation is OK but I am not sure if it's a past event. As for me it would be better to use the present tense here:

I am/ have been jealous of your photo because it is wonderful.

Because he or she is jealous while saying this sentence. You know, merdogan, in Turkish, we sometimes use the past tense even if we talk about present events. e.g : "Susadım" or "Karnım acıktı" etc. I think it is the same case here.

It is for me "I was..." because he (or we) can say this after he (we) saw this photo. Therefore it's a past event.

I agree with Hristina. If we say "I was jealous" it means "kıskançtım". Maybe it could be "I became jealous" too.
