Legutolsó üzenet | | | | | 18 Àprilis 2008 18:24 | | | Hi kfeto,
That would read better in English as:
"We are never more generous than when we give advice."
What do you think? | | | 18 Àprilis 2008 20:51 | | kfetoHozzászólások száma: 953 | hi lilian
well,i think i like it more the way it is, but feel free to edit if you want. after all, it is your prerogative;-)
either way, thanks for asking first
| | | 19 Àprilis 2008 14:10 | | | Hi kfeto
I'll set a poll the way it is.
I just suggested, but your text is OK.
Let's see if the voters agree. | | | 19 Àprilis 2008 22:30 | | | Hello kfeto, "olduÄŸumuz kadar" may be lacking.
How about like this?
We are never as generous as we are when we give advice.
| | | 19 Àprilis 2008 23:27 | | kfetoHozzászólások száma: 953 | hello cesur
english grammar allows it here not to repeat 'we are'.
| | | 19 Àprilis 2008 23:57 | | | I'm not sure...but I think, in Turkish, these phrases like "olduÄŸumuz gibi","olduÄŸumuzdan" always have some meaning in the sentences.
My English is miserable as you know, so if it conveys the meaning of this Turkish sentence accurately (I'm sorry, I'm using your words)without "as we are", it's ok. |
