Hi kfeto,

That would read better in English as:
"We are never more generous than when we give advice."

What do you think?

Hi kfeto

I'll set a poll the way it is.
I just suggested, but your text is OK.
Let's see if the voters agree.

Hello kfeto, "olduÄŸumuz kadar" may be lacking.
How about like this?
We are never as generous as we are when we give advice.

hello cesur
english grammar allows it here not to repeat 'we are'.

I'm not sure...but I think, in Turkish, these phrases like "olduÄŸumuz gibi","olduÄŸumuzdan" always have some meaning in the sentences.

My English is miserable as you know, so if it conveys the meaning of this Turkish sentence accurately (I'm sorry, I'm using your words)without "as we are", it's ok.
