The verb tenses are a bit confusing.
"...since we've been in touch" should be:
"...since we were in touch"
What do you mean by "I'm thinking about you, but I was hesitating because of Alex." ? | | |

word by word: "I am thinking about you, but on the other hand I was hesitating because of Alex"
this could mean: "I was thinking of calling you/getting in touch with you...". We could add that as a note. | | |
