Had I abandoned

English

Target language: English
Had I abandoned
what was bad
much earlier
and pursued what was good,
then I would have done something good.
And that would not have been so bad.

Looking at the french text, I would say:
"If I had abandoned
what was bad
for what was good
much earlier,
Then I had done something good
And that would not have been so bad."
But I'm not sure if it's better this way, I proposed like this because "which" sounds weird to me here.
