"I can't" seems to sound too slight for the purpose and besides it can be mistaken for "I can't manage to", which would be wrong. I'm not sure if these reasons sound substantial...

I just wanted to avoid repeating 'must'.
What about changing the other one?
'I have to wait'

Grammatically it can be I/you/he/she/we/you/they...
The second sentence is more like "I need to wait" then "I have to wait (oblidged to)"
