Darrer missatge | | | | | 22 Agost 2007 10:47 | | | Iepurica, in the Latin text, it should be "turpitudinem" (accusative) and not "turpitudine" (ablative or dative)
"Personne n'est admis ou écouté s'il se prévaut de sa propre turpitude". I'll have to have look into my old dictionary in order to find thez proper English words
"No one is listened at if one avails oneself of one's own turpitude (or "baseness", or "base deed"
| | | 22 Agost 2007 10:48 | | | have a look at my post above, Iepurica. CC: iepurica | | | 23 Agost 2007 23:01 | | | I am a student at the faculty of law. This is a well known expression>>> Nemo auditur propriam turpitudinem allegans

here yesterday.
(No doubt this kind of Latin expression is used in Law, as they like antediluvian sentences even when it's nowadays Laws, lol!)
So in France, meaning is :
"Personne n'est admis ou écouté s'il se prévaut de sa propre turpitude".
which really sounds like a law precept. A variant is indicated (admittitur as an alternative to "auditur"
