| | Saudade = longing.
Maybe it's better to translate by "I've got longing for my brother". |

| | I think that the word saudade isn't literally translatable to any language... only in portuguese it isn't a verb.
Longing it's more to desejo, anseio, than to saudade. |

| | I agree with Thatha.. in this context is the correct because she feels the lack or the loss of her brother |

| DalmoNumber of messages: 12 | It's hard to translate "saudades", but it is definitely not a verb, neither is it necessarily in the first person. |

| | I think that the word in portuguese isn't necessarily the first person, but in the english it would be nice... Here we have a pretty tough word to translate, hehe |

| | It bothers me that it's not a verb. How about "Missing my brother!!!". |

| | In german it's also a noun: "Sehnsucht" ;-)
But it's really ok, what Kafetzou offered... |

| | I really don't see problems with this translation. But in other hand Thatha said there's no first person in the Portuguese sentence.. it would be if it was "Eu tenho saudades do meu irmão"
So, Kafetzou's suggestion fits good
I should have noticed this!!
It's just a detail |
