This short requests may be tricky sometimes
First we have to decide if we address the person formal or informally in order to choose the verb form.
Here, "Perdóneme" is formal (like in: "Forgive me, sir/madam) and "conocerte" (meet you) informal (btw, I think it should be " reconocerte" (recognize you)
What do you say?

Thanks a lot for your corrections. In this sentence the person is adressed informally, and yes, it should be "recognize", so if we say "¡Perdóname! No he podido reconocerte." will it be correct now? | | | 6 August 2009 21:04 | | | Better, but the most usual way to express it would be:
"¡Perdóname! No te he/habÃa reconocido" | | | 6 August 2009 21:04 | | | Thanks Lilly, I'll edit it now
So we shouldn't use here the verb "poder", right? Without it the whole phrase sounds more natural? | | | 6 August 2009 21:42 | | | "No he podido reconocerte" sounds like: (Although I tried hard) I wasn't able to recognize you. |
