| | Re Hi Queenbee
It would be best if you kept the text in the same person for both halves of the phrase. So you need to choose between using "one" and "they".
I've set a poll because I still don't speak any Turkish (yet)

| lenabIdadi ya ujumbe: 1084 | "their own legs" |

| | "they own" olmaz, olacaksa "their own" olmalı fakat öle yazılsa da doğru bir çeviri olmaz "aykalrı üstünde durmak" anlamına gelen bir deyimleri mutlaka vardır onun bulunması daha doğru olur. |

| lenabIdadi ya ujumbe: 1084 | Actually I think the English phrase is "standing on one's own two feet", not legs.
"If they want to get a good profession and stand on their own two feet." even if two isn't mentioned here

| RiseIdadi ya ujumbe: 126 | I agree to your suggestion lenab. It would be better if that phrase were used. Also, even if not mentioned, "kendi ayakları" implies the two feet |

| | Hi Queenbee,
-as the others suggested- It is better to use "feet" instead of "leg". |
| | 6 Oktoba 2008 21:31 |
| | i prefer to use feets instead of legs. |

| | Hi All
I totally agree with lenab here, "on one's own two feet" is idiomatic and perfectly adapted to the idea conveyed by the source text.
Queenbee, can you edit your text using lenab's suggestions? Then I will validate and you can enjoy your points
